2 Little Indians

Since they love to paint their faces so much, we made little Indian feather hats and I let them paint themselves. They had a lot of fun cutting things out. Good thing I got 2 pairs of children's dull scissors! Here are our 2 little Indians!

I Love to See the Temple

We took a coupe of days to go up to the temple last week. It was very nice, we took turns watching the kids. Bixente ran right up to the temple and said "Bixente's going to find Jesus Mommy." It was very darling. Such faith. We got some cute pictures. I love the one of Sebastien on his papa's shoulders. It rained most of the time we were up in D.C. but we did get a hotel and take the boys swimming which was also really fun. We also ordered in Chinese food which the boys absolutely loved.

Easter

I'm a little behind on my posting. I seem to go in spurts. Lots of pictures all at once, then nothing for a while. Oh, well! Easter was a really nice day. We hid the kids' Easter baskets. Bixente found his first. In hind sight maybe that wasn't the best plan, because Sebastien was sure he'd been left out when we tried to get him away from Bixente's basket to find his own. He didn't understand that there was one for him too. But once they both had their baskets everyone was happy. Bixente was delighted with his Herold the Helicopter from the Thomas train series and Sebastien sat stuffing his mouth full of as many chocolates as he possibly could. They were both really fun to watch. Nat made us a great breakfast and our good friend Annette came up to see us. It's been a year since we've seen her. I wish I'd remembered to take pictures! But it was a really nice day. I'm glad it was General Conference so we could relax as a family while we listened to some beautiful talks on the Savior. If only we could've heard them all! It's hard to keep the boys still and quiet that long! But we all do our best.

What a Day!

What a day--and it's only just begun! It started at midnight with Sebastien waking up and insisting he was ready to play. He didn't go to bed till after 2:00 a.m. Luckily for me, Nat is a very kind man and he sent me to bed at 12:30 and stayed up with him. Then about 3:00 a.m. I woke up writhing in incredible pain. I don't know why! After about 45 minutes I couldn't bare it any longer and went to get Nat. Poor thing felt utterly helpless. Thankfully he is not! With the help of a priesthood blessing I was able to go back to sleep about 5:00. The boys were up by 7:30. I tried to let poor Nat sleep even though I was exhausted myself and the pain was threatening to return. In less than an hour Bixente was already in time-out 4 times for beating up on his little brother, then they broke into the room and woke Nat up before I could stop them. Nat and I both had our nose's hit hard accidentally within seconds by one of the boys. And then the toilet overflowed full of all kinds of wonderfulness. So I was busy cleaning up a disaster in the bathroom while Nat cleaned up both of the boys. I now have multiple loads of laundry due to the clean-up and I already had 4 batches of clean clothes that I haven't had time to fold yet. And it's only 10:30. I'm afraid if things don't look up soon this is going to be a VERY LONG day!

First Picnic

I love picnics! It's been forever since I've been. The other day I was reading the boys a story about the Bernstein Bear's going on a picnic, and decided it would be fun. The weather was finally nice! Bixente was thrilled with the idea, so I packed up a picnic, complete with homemade apple pie (I have to admit that my pie is darn good stuff!) and we headed off. It was really fun. Bixente kept getting up and running around to explore, but Sebastien is serious about his food. He sat on the blanket trying to get the tupperware containers open himself then he didn't move till he was all done eating! It was a perfect day! If only Nat could have been there too!

Cystic Fibrosis Walk

For anyone in the area who might be interested in joining our family we'll be walking next Saturday morning in support of my cousin's son Peter who has cystic fibrosis. (Isn't he a cutie?) It's free to participate, but all donations do go to help find a cure for the disease. If anyone would like to register to join us or read a little more about Peter's story please follow this link: http://www.cff.org/great_strides/dsp_donationPage.cfm?registeringwalkid=6627&idUser=380945

Sticks and Stones

What could be more fun for little boys than playing with sticks and stones? We played outside for over an hour and all they did is collect rocks and sticks and wander around looking at everything the whole time. Sebastien had both hands completely full of sticks by the time it was time to go. He was sure it was the end of the world when I didn't let him take the sticks home in the car with us. Poor thing.

We Love Trader Joe's

We love Trader Joe's. Yes, they have some good stuff there, but best of all they give our kids balloons every time we come, which provides hours of entertainment. I thought it was funny that they wanted their balloons to take a bath with them.
