Pretty Yellow Kitchen

We worked very hard on our kitchen walls. We finally decided on yellow plaster. We think that it turned out really cool! There were several steps involved; first layer, second layer, and glazing, so we're posting the progression and the final results. It was actually a really fun project!

Happy 4th!

We really had a fun 4th of July. We went to the beach with a bunch of friends and swam, had BBQ, played volleyball, and soccer. In the afternoon we watched Italy and Germany in the World Cup, and started painting our kitchen. And at night we met up with some friends to watch the fireworks. We were so tired by the end of the night, but it was a great break!

Allez Les Bleus!

France beat Brazil in the World Cup series yesterday and will be moving on to the semi-finals! As you can imagine, Nat was so excited! We both dressed up in French soccer jersies to watch the game. Nat was so excited about the game he couldn't even look at the camera long enough to take the picture--and the game hadn't even started yet! (Please excuse my camping gear that is cluttering up the picture.) France will be playing Portugal later on this week. Allez Les Bleus!

Girls Camp

I just returned from a week in the pouring rain and the mud! I took 16 girls from our church camping for a week in tents, and it rained the majority of the time. Amazingly enough, the girls all thought they had a fabulous time. I can't say it was my favorite experience, but it's over now and I'm home with my sweetheart. Hooray! The most fun that I had was a 3 hour break in the rain when we, along with the other 85 girls and their leaders from different congregations, were bussed to a private lake and got to go swimming. That was a nice break. No pictures will accompany this post--I didnt' want to risk having our digital camera destroyed in the rain. That turned out to be good thinking on my part as our tents completely flooded and I slept in 6 inches of rain (I'm not joking, though I wish I were!)
