Temple Picnic

B is still loving school. He comes out so happy every day when we come to pick him up. However; after hearing about what S has done during the day he's taken to asking me "Mom, did you save any fun for me today?" So, after school one day he got to go on a temple picnic much to his delight. He too loved the fountains just like S and E. I don't blame them. I remember being about three years old when my dad would take me to the Logan temple in Utah and looking at the fountains was my favorite thing. I remember also that we went there one night after The Fox and the Hound movie was sold out and we ate peanut M&M's while we sat on the grounds. Maybe temple picnic's originated sooner than I thought! Anyway, good tradition. We had fun.

I realize running probably isn't the most reverent thing but they were so happy and they were using very quiet voices and weren't bothering anybody.

Trying to climb up to look at the flowers. She's quite determined.

Love this picture! E doesn't walk, she doesn't really crawl, but she "walks" on her bum.

They were playing "tip toe" around the fountain

And here I got on video a little bit of my baby's girls cute "bum walking."

First Day of School

B's first day of pre-school. He was so excited he could hardly wait for the day to come. We had fun shopping for his Lightning McQueen backpack and Buzz Lightyear lunchbox. S felt a little left out so he got to pick out a Star Wars lunch box. B and Papa also went shopping together for his uniforms. We all woke up early and had a big breakfast and took pictures before it was time to go. First order of business was to take pictures of the back pack! As you can see B couldn't wait to go to school and was so excited. His little brother wasn't overly excited that B was going without him, poor guy. (He also wasn't sure he liked the hug around the neck!) Then we all went and took him to school together and the principal met us and gave us a tour and introduced us to all of B's teachers. He got a little shy when he saw all the kids and when they came over to say hi he buried his face in my tummy and hid his face. But he didn't cry when we left and I got emails throughout the day from his teacher and vice principal saying he was doing just great. That was very comforting for me, and thoughtful of them I thought.

With no big brother calling the shots, S got to pick the activity of the day and he chose to pack a lunch in his new Star Wars lunchbox and we went and had a picnic at the temple.
(Temple Picnic's were a a tradition started by me, my cousin and my best friend in college and my kids love them now too!) E loved having all of S's attention to herself and he played great with her. She loved the picnic too and they both really liked the fountains.

E showing S something interesting

E kept putting her foot up in every picture so S decided to do it too

And here we have the happiest little boy ever. He loved school and the playground and his lunch and the other kids--espcially a little girl in a red sweater who's hair "God curled" that he played with in the sandbox- and his teachers. He came home so very happy and couldn't wait to go again the next day. He hopped in the car and said "Hi Mom, did you miss me?" I said, "Yes I did. Did you miss me?" His response? "Nope. Not one bit. I was too busy having some fun. Why do I have to go home already?" Later when he called his grandpa to tell him about his day, Grandpa asked him why he liked school and B replied with a very silly smile on his face, "Because I saw some girls there." Oh my! N had us stop by work on our way home so he could see B after his first day of school and hear all about it.

With Lincoln

I just found this video from our trip to Houston. I'm about six months late, but I thought this video of Lincoln and B was cute. They each thought the other was so funny.

Look What We Can Do

Baby E finally learned how to pull herself up into standing position! Woohoo! She won't do it very often, but now we know she can do it!

Papa let S cut his hair! Way to go S! Brave Papa. =)

Hanging Out With Grandma and Grandpa

Grandma and Grandpa are tired. =)

S snuggled up on the floor in his favorite blanket.

E loved playing ball with Grandpa! She was yelling and so excited.

E's had cute hair the whole time her best friend Grandma was here!

Rainy Day

Grandpa and N were supposed to take the boys fishing on Saturday, but it was pouring rain. (Plus we'd heard and confirmed rumors that there are alligators in the lake--FREAKY!) So they decided to pass on fishing and went to the Bass Pro Shop and had a great time "driving" boats and fishing at the shop. Grandma, E and I went shopping and we all met up for lunch. We all came home and watched "How to Tame a Dragon" together and had popcorn. It was a nice day even if it was a rainy one. (Too bad it was 80 degrees and sunny just two days after Grandma and Grandpa went home!)
