School Field Day!

This post will need updated.  Like I said, our computer is having trouble and it's not letting me load any of the pictures of S.  So, hopefully I will shortly have him also featured in this post.  It's really fun, every year their school does a field day for the kids, themed around a certain country.  This year it was Italy, so they've been doing fun things at school like making pasta and biscotti and studying Pinocchio and the Leaning Tower of Pisa.  It's pretty cool.  They loved the field day and the whole family gets to come and watch.  N and I took turns watching B and S's events.

 Watching their friends do the obstacle course.  On the right of B we have Bronwyn "the prettiest girl in my class" and to the left we have Emilie, "She wants me to marry her.  I asked her if she goes to my temple, she said yes, so I said sure."  Look how much taller than all the girls he is!

Artists

We spent a whole day at home just playing and hanging out together.  We had so much fun painting.  S is our true artist and spent a lot of time on his picture making it very detailed, B hurried and hand-painted as fast as he could to get his poster filled up, and E painted herself.  She only wanted red.  I gave her a plate full of other colors and she'd just slap her chest and point to the red and turn the plate back around.  No yellow, green or blue for her thank you very much.  She knew exactly what she wanted.  The pictures are now hanging in the kids' rooms.  Fun day.

Misc.

Something is big time wrong with our computer, all of our files were wiped out and it won't download all of my pictures, so here they are randomly and out of order, and that is also why I haven't posted for a long time.  I had the awesome fun of getting a surprise trip to Idaho to see my sister Kelli before she leaves for her mission in Argentina!  (I must work on getting those pictures.)  I was there over Easter, so Nat made sure the Easter bunny still found the kids.  These are the pictures he took for me.  They look like they had fun even if the kitchen is a bit messy!

 E took a bath in her food.  She was soooo filthy!

The boys ripped up a box and made a castle.  They were having so much fun.

New beds!  The bunk beds were getting too dangerous!  They were using them as a jungle gym.

E loves music.  She loves to play the piano and sing.  She is doing both.  Too stinking cute!!!

Rainbow

The pictures don't do it justice, but this rainbow was a perfect arc and it was gorgeous!

Musicians

B has been begging for a violin for almost a year.  I told him the deal was he could have lessons if he did piano lessons with me for 6 months and showed me he'd really stick to it.  Sweet boy, he did it!  And he prayed for that violin every night and saved every penny he earned or any money anyone gave him.  Then just as he was signed up for violin lessons for his Christmas present, the poor thing broke his wrist.  FINALLY he got his violin.  He was so proud to pay for the first month rental with his own money!  Lessons are a big thanks to Grandma! B loves it.  And his teacher is awesome.  B is practicing very hard every night and insists he will "persevere" and play on stage some day.  We shall see, but that would be very cool.

Picnic

B, E and I had a fun picnic with our friends Jihane and Nadim.  S spent the day with his papa.  The boys had a lot of fun rolling down the hill, exploring, playing Darth Vador and the Emperor.  E kept trying to escape and go exploring on her own.  She and I had fun playing soccer till she tried to kick the ball and missed and fell down and scraped her head.  E loves J as you can see in the picture.She also climbed the hill and made friends with a Chinese family who was also having a picnic.  She was so happy to play with their kids!  We had a great day, until I left too late and made N late for work.  =(  Not a good ending to the day, but up till that point it was really nice!

Bowling

We decided to go bowling for Family Home Evening.  It was the kids' first time ever bowling and N and I's first time ever bowling together.  We had a lot of fun.  I was very consistent.  7's across the board.  Amazingly S kicked everyone's bootie and both boys were doing really well by the end.  They even got a few spares and B got a strike!  E was so proud to get a turn just like her brothers, though she spent the majority of the time trying to escape and explore the lanes and visit the other bowlers.  I crashed and landed on my tailbone VERY HARD.  It still hurts!  The owners were really cool and turned off the lights and turned on the disco balls, strobe lights and music.  The kids thought that was pretty awesome.  They also very generously gave each of the kids a new toy on the way out.  Definitely a fun FHE.

Checking out the ball return was very fascinating.  Just as I remember it being when I was a kid!  =)
