A Little Break
We decided to take a little break and went up to Maryland for a weekend and got a hotel and just had fun swimming, eating pizza, watching movies and hanging out. It was really nice.

Bastille Day
Nat took a few days off to celebrate the 14th of July which is the French holiday, Bastille Day. B's been begging to go to the beach and smash sandcastles ever since his Uncle S was here so we took the babies and spent the day at the beach. Poor Nat got stung by a jelly fish. Aside from that it was a lot of fun and great to have Nat home for a few days!
(I tried to post a video of B playing in the waves. It didn't work. Sorry.)

Steel Magnolias
Our little man is growing up so fast and growing quickly out of his clothes. He was so excited about his new suit today that even though it is July and hot and humid he insisted on wearing the suit coat all day. So, here's our handsome little B with his Mama showing off her new haircut. Nat surprised me by scheduling me a hair appointment at an award winning salon where I was quite spoiled. If you've ever seen Steel Magnolias you'll understand the title of the post. I sat in that chair for 2 hours getting my hair done while everyone chatted away like the Beauty Salon was the hub of all life in town. It was fun and a little funny. Wednesday, July 15, 2009
Peter Pan

The Children's Department of our library here does some really awesome programs. They also have a very nice theater to hold these programs in. Today they did 2 showings of the ballet "Peter Pan." Both shows were completely packed. I took my boys -- yes, my boys. We had so much fun. They loved it. As soon as the music started and the dancers came out they both got really quiet and just stared. S got upset when the lady in front of him was blocking his view and jiggled and wiggled around till he could see around her. B snuggled up with his arms around S and they were cheek to cheek. Every time a movement ended B was the first to yell "Yeah!" and start clapping. It was so darn cute. After an hour B asked to go home because we'd missed his nap, but even as we were leaving he changed his mind and went back to see a little more dancing. It was really fun.

Soup
And here's little S so excited to be eating my potato soup. He's trying to get the spoon and shove it in his mouth himself! No baby food for this guy. He wants what everyone else is having! He'll be 6 months old tomorrow! We love this little boy soooo much.

Happy Father's Day!
Hope all the Father's out there had a great Father's Day and I hope my Nat enjoyed his. He's a wonderful Papa. This post is for my dad. I love you! Here are some of my favorite memories with Dad.
-Riding on the back of the motorcycle with you in the desert and running out of gas during a lightning storm and watching all the weird colors of lightning
-Following you around the garage watching you wood work or gut deer or whatever you were doing out there
-Auctioning off the calves
-Going to pick up Macho and Charlie at Pickle Hill
-Getting Aggie icecream with you
-Going to watch The Fox in the Hound but eating peanut M&M's on the temple grounds instead when the show was sold out
-Riding the bus to the Seminary building and helping clean the waterfountains and bathrooms after school
-Going to your classes with you at IU and drawing pictures during the lectures
-My turn to go to Indianapolis and Muncie with you, eating at Flakey Jakes & the Flying Tomato, and guessing what time we'd arrive home
-Going fishing with you in Colorado
-Your graduation
-Listening to you tell stories and sing and play the guitar
-Our trip to San Diego and Tiajuana
-Cross-country skiing with you through a peach sunset
I love you my D! I miss you so, so, so much. I'm so glad you're my Dad.

Cute Pictures
I thought it was adorable that the pool had little sunchairs just right for kids. So here are two pictures of the boys kicking it at the pool. It's been great having the pool near by. On really hot days we just walk over in the stroller then cool off.Thursday, June 11, 2009
S's Firsts
Sweet little S is growing so fast! In the past few weeks he's learned to roll over. He can get around well that way! He's a curious little soul. I'm dead when he can walk! Just rolling around he's already made it to the bookcase and pushed the books out backwards! He also had his first real food. He always makes really funny faces, but he's thrilled to part of the family eating experience. He knows exactly what to do and wants to put the spoon in his mouth by himself already! I'm actually quite amazed. He's always sucking on his little toes too. It's so cute! We love our little S man!

It's Icecream!
Nat was washing his car yesterday and B wanted to help. He was out there in his pj's and his barefeet having the time of his life. The water from the hose created a puddle of mud and Bixente stepped in it and was, of course, delighted to squish his toes in it. But his funny comment as the mud squished through his toes was "It's icecream!" He's such a funny little boy.
Another funny one: "B, do you want a hot dog?" "Tramp? Dogs?" ( In other words Lady & the Tramp, 101 Dalmations.) "No, a hot dog. We eat it." "Noooooo!!!!" with a little wail. He thought we were going to eat a dog. He was truly freaked out.

Touch the Moon

A few evenings ago when we were at the park, Bpointed up at the sky and said "The moon! I'm smart!" Indeed he is. We'd read about the moon in a story the night before, but I'd never pointed it out to him myself. He spotted it all on his own. Then he says "The moon! Look! I see it. I touch it??? Can't reach it!" I thought it was very, very cute.

Visitors
I love having visitors. Last week my friend Michelle from Austin stopped by for a couple of hours on her way to North Carolina. It was so fun to see her. Then a few days laters my friends Tracy and Anna came for two days. It was great! Anna brought her son Matt and he and B had a ball running around, wrestling, and screaming like maniacs. It was great to see everyone.

Urgent Care
We were at Urgent Care 3 times in 1 week and it was all in the middle of the move. Poor Be was so sick with a fever of 103 and a mouthful of blisters. He was so miserable it was 5 days before he'd eat anything. When he did finally eat it was 1/3 of a box of thin mint icecream. Here he is standing in the kitchen in the dark at midnight shoveling icecream with a plastic fork. And poor Nat went to play basket ball and rolled his ankle so bad it was swollen 3 times it's original size and he was on crutches for a while and is still in a brace. My poor boys .Thursday, May 21, 2009
A Day at the Park
Nat took a week off of work to help me pack up the house and get ready for the move. We worked hard in the mornings and would spend the afternoons doing fun things like swimming and going to the park. Here are a few fun shots from the park one afternoon. I know there are more of B than S, but that's just because S's always strapped to one or the other of us so it's harder to get a lot of pictures of him.

Cars & Trucks
B loves, loves, loves cars and trucks. Here are a few cute pictures of him trying to drive some real ones!
He couldn't have been more excited when Nat let him sit behind the wheel of the moving truck. He looked at us and said "Push it." Ya right baby! That truck is way too big to push you in it! We tried to get a video, but it came out upside down.
While I was getting S in his carseat, B climbed into the drivers seat and said "I drive it." It was scary how much he knew he was supposed to do. He tried to put on his seat belt. Then asked for the key (which I obviously didn't give him), messed around with the radio buttons "Music," he said. And then he tried to shift the gears! Thank goodness the emergency brake was on.Monday, May 11, 2009
Favorite Memories of Mom
Mom, I know I didn't get to talk to you on Mother's Day, so just in case you're checking the blog at an internet cafe in Europe somewhere this is for you. I love you!
Making snow angels and playing in the snow by the canal in Moreland
Playing house under the card table in the house you sewed me
Making homemade play-dough and pinatas
Watching you make Adam's temple birthday cake
Painting popcorn with watercolors on the kitchen counter with Adam and eating it and you letting us do it
Watching you unpin your really long hair and wash it in the tub
Listening to you laugh
Visiting Utah with you when we lived in Indiana
Learning how to sew shirts with you
Driving with you in the car and listening to stories about how you met Dad
Driving in a blizzard to Indianapolis to pick up the back seat for the suburban
The dozen roses you got me when I didn't make show choir
You driving me in a blizard so I could go with Kenna to Dave & Dan's farewell in Panguitch
Mother's week at Ricks College
You driving out to Ohio with me when I moved
And many more. I love you! Hope you had a Happy Mother's Day.
