Grandma and Grandpa's Visit

My parents were able to come out over President's Day weekend. It was great to have them even if it was short and sweet. B loved reading with Grandma, something I used to love to do with my Grandma Petersen. He also loved taking naps and sword fighting with Grandpa--if only I'd gotten a picture of that! The last night they were here he kissed Grandma goodnight and took Grandpa by the hand and led him to his bedroom to get tucked in and hear a bedtime story. Little S loved being cuddled by both Grandma and Grandpa. One day while they were here the boys and I took them up to Williamsburg. Nat had to work that day. But we had a great time walking around even though B did miss the horses. (Dad I still need you to email me those pictures!) Mom and Dad also gave us a special treat by watching B and S on Valentine's Day so we were able to go on our first real date in over a year! It was great to have them here. We sure miss them and wish we could see them more often.

B's Big Boy Bed!

B graduated into his big boy bed at the beginning of this month. We thought he was still a little young for a big boy bed but as S's bassinet is only safe for him up to 14 pounds and he already weighed 13 pounds 7 ounces at his one month check-up we thought it was time to move B out of the crib to make room for S. Nat took B out one afternoon and while they were gone I got everything set up. B was so thrilled when he came back. He kept wanting to play in his room on his bed. The first night he was put in the big boy bed he discovered that he could get out whenever he wanted and kept sneaking out and saying "Hi!" So he finally got put back in his crib for the night. We tried it again the next day and he never got out once! He's done fantastic ever since. He has fallen out a few times in spite of gaurd rails. The first time that happened he skinned his forehead, poor baby! But since then I've put pillows around so he falls on them instead. But that has only happened 3 times. What a big boy! He's growing up so fast!

Goodnight B (He won't go to sleep without his dog "Aarf" and his bear "Jean Louis")

Popping back up to say "Hi!"

Asleep on a pillow on the floor. He fell out and never even woke up. I just heard a CRASH from the other room and nothing else so I came in to see if everything was okay and this is what I found.

S's Blessing

My parents were able to be here for S's baby blessing. We're so glad! That was very special for us. Nat did a beautiful job. We sure love our newest addition.

My Valentine

My Nat treats me so good. He's always willing to stay up late with S or get up early with Bwhen I need some sleep. He does the grocery shopping for me and often the cooking, dishes and laundry. He's spent countless hours rubbing my poor neck. He surprises me with little things like chocolate or bubble bath or he and B bake bread while I'm away and surprise me. And I just love the way his eyes smile when he looks at me. We had a lovely Valentine's Day. It's one of FedEx's busiest days but he got me some gorgeous red roses and chocolate. (I haven't had a chance to download any pictures from this weekend yet, but these flowers are actually the ones he got me when Sebastien was born. Aren't they perfect?) He surprised me today by coming home early and taking me to Texas Road House. It was the first date we've had just the two of us in over 19 months! My wonderful parents have been here visiting this weekend and they took care of the boys so we could go out. It was terrific. I just love my Valentine. I only hope I take as good care of him as he does of me. I love you my Nat!

Cute Brothers

I can't believe our little S is already a month old today! Time sure does seem to fly by. He's getting so big and has the softest, squishiest cheeks! And he smiles a lot which really is fun. B can't get enough of him and is such a good big brother. He always helps me with diaper changes. He insists on getting Ss diaper himself which he calls a "dry guy." Whenever Sebastien cries B stops whatever he's doing and runs to the baby telling me to "Get it! Get it!" He gives him his stuffed animals and his favorite "Curious George" book to help cheer him up and if that doesn't work and if I'm not fast enough he scares me to death by trying to pick Sebastien up himself. What cute little brothers!

Merci Tata Jolaine et Tata Christel

B loves his French soccer jersey. As soon as he got it on he ran to the full length mirror in the bedroom to look at himself and just stood there smiling. Thank you so much Tata Jand Tata Cl. Bsends kisses to you both!

We Miss Aunt S

My sister Shaunie came to Virginia to take care of us for two weeks after Sebastien was born. She was a wonderful help. Bixente absolutely adored her and keeps asking where she's gone. Both he and Sebastien showered her with kisses. Every time I asked for a kiss Bixente would give one to Shauntel instead. And Sebastien always has his little lips puckered up like he's just waiting to be kissed. It's so cute! We miss you Shaunie Marie. Thanks for everything.

Aunt S&; B

Aunt S & B made cookies together as a treat for Momma & Papa's 4th anniversary. How sweet. (The cookies did turn out a little strange though no one could remember forgetting an ingredient, but B had the best time. He loves to cook. )

Christmas

Obviously we're a bit behind on our blogging so here are the Christmas pictures--finally! We had a really nice day with just the 3 of us though we missed all the grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Our little family on Christmas morning.

Bixente loved his truck from Grandpa and Grandma. Thank you so much!

Bixente absolutely loves vacuuming. So, for Christmas he got his own little vacuum. He couldn't have been more thrilled.

Pictures Coming Soon

For those of you who have been checking our blog for more pictures of our boys we promise we will be posting soon. Bixente and Sebastien have both been sick, so we've all been "exhausted" around here as Bixente keeps saying. Not to mention the boys' noses have been constantly running so that doesn't make for very nice pictures! But we promise we'll have some up soon so please keep checking back. Love to all.

S

And here's our newest family member! Isn't he just beautiful? This is S. He was born on January 7th and truly amazed us by being 9 pounds 7 ounces and 21 and a half inches long! He is such a sweetheart. We are very blessed. Our niece, E, was also born that very morning. Happy day for Grandma and Grandpa!

S

B meeting S for the first time. Don't you just love the smile? He keeps coming up to us and saying "S. Soft. Kiss!" Adorable brothers.

Gingerbread Houses

Last Sunday we were invited to a gingerbread house making party. It was the first time we've ever made gingerbread houses. It was great! B really got into all the candy and helped himself with great enthusiasm to everything within his reach while Nat and I tried to create a gingerbread house. I have to admit ours was the ugliest one, but we sure had fun making it!

Colonial Christmas

I love Williamsburg. If we could live in Williamsburg I think we'd be happy to stay in Virginia forever. We go up there every chance we get. For the past 3 Christmas seasons I've been dying to go and see the natural Christmas decorations that I kept hearing about. This year we finally made it up there during the Christmas season. Hooray! B absolutely loves the horses. Whenever we arrive in the parking lot he recognizes where we are and immediately starts talking about them and he's always the first to spot the horse-drawn carriages in the village. So we had to get a few pictures with Bpetting the horses. The decorations are just beautiful and are made of real fruit. I'm posting my favorite arrangement. Isn't it just lovely?
